Lorien Hotel Wedding: Andrew + Melenie

Andrew and Melenie are both exceptionally sensitive people who have tuned themselves into the other person. It's a balance that I wanted to portray as best I could, without messing up that balance. [It's the Heisenberg principle of photography!] They have a gentleness that is important to capture. I'm very grateful that they put so much trust in me to witness their wedding.

This was the first time that I photographed a ceremony in the Lorien's patio space, which was only possible by having perfect weather. It really was perfect. Andrew had this wonderful nervous energy of someone in love. Melenie gave off a similar expectant excitement, and somehow did so looking movie-star beautiful at the same time.

Donna, the Lorien event manager, mentioned to me that Melenie and Andrew's wedding is a "real" wedding--that is, full of friends and family and without artifice. I'm happy to agree. Andrew and Melenie held their wedding at the size and in a place where everyone felt important and where it was easy to spread the love that they had, to everyone.

Many thanks to the mother who pointed out the child finally, after many hours, crashed next to the dance floor. It really is the best place in the world to take a nap.

Finally, thank you to Melenie and Andrew for inviting me!
