St. Patrick's Day Inspiration Shoot
In honor of St. Patrick's Day this week, we are getting ready for the holiday by sharing a few of our favorite images from a recent Irish-inspired shoot of Jennifer's. From Jennifer:
You know it's March when I start playing the Irish music stations on Pandora. My mother always played Irish music this time of year- and I knew that soon after we would find her in the kitchen cooking a few of the Irish recipes that have been handed down from my grandmother. We didn't celebrate the holiday with drinking, instead there was tea and soda bread. Have you ever heard of Irish potatoes? They aren't what you think they might be. In honor of the upcoming holiday, I'm sharing these recipes here for you to enjoy at your home, because, aren't we all a little Irish this time of year?
IRISH SODA BREAD
3 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1/2 box of raisins ( I prefer currants, they are a bit smaller)
1 tsp caraway seeds
Combine dry ingredients and an egg. Add milk last. Flour and grease a rectangular bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
IRISH POTATOES:
1 stick of butter
1 box of confectioner's sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
3 1/2 ounces of shredded coconut
1/2 tsp milk
cinnamon
Mix all ingredients in a food processor and form into small balls. Roll in cinnamon. Enjoy!
