Josephine Butler Parks Center Wedding: Shelby + Josef

I enjoyed photographing Shelby and Josef during their wedding, and we talked a lot about how they wanted the images to look. The weather was sketchy, and no one knew if Meridian Park would be available. As it happens, it was, and perhaps because of the threat of rain, the place was not crowded. Rain did come, however, but just seconds after we finished that last family portrait. That was good timing!

Logistics aside, I think the sweetness of Shelby and Josef comes through in these photos. And a bit of giddiness. My favorite images from this wedding are the First Look photos from above the fountain, but also when Shelby gives the pumped up sign just after they are married. Finally, I was proud to capture the expression on Shelby's father's face as he hugs Josef, but is looking toward his daughter.

The place was full of family and friends who had no trouble having a good time. The Josephine Butler house lends itself to families in this way, providing a closeness without feeling closed in. And, as you can tell, I always love those stairs.
