Immaculate Conception Church Wedding: Michelle and John
Photographing Michelle and John's wedding, I felt like a guest wondering how he got so lucky to be invited. Maybe I'm only noticing it now, at this point in my career, but the words they said to one another and the way they looked made me feel humble. They are really there for each other, I thought to myself, and it was something I endeavored to put into photographs.
Of my favorites, I want to mention John's face as he looked down the aisle. He's a man in uniform, but that smile is the boy all over again: pure and happy. My favorite shot of them together is the one from the church courtyard. It was wet with rain, and the light fell soft on both of them. I was grateful to capture Michelle's face as she spoke with her father, and the moment she walked into the church. That dress and the light, gave a mixture of both old and new that I also saw in the both of them: their bond had the depth of something older, but as a marriage, it was new.
Congratulations to both of you. It was a pleasure to be there with you.
